The Belle Brush had just completed a full rebrand after months of work on their new packaging and updated brand identity. With a fresh, elevated look, they needed photography that matched the same standard — visuals that would carry the new branding across every customer touchpoint.
The challenge was creating imagery that not only highlighted the sleek new packaging but also translated their refreshed identity into every style of photo: e-commerce shots, lifestyle imagery, and model photography. They needed a cohesive visual library that would:
Reflect the premium, modern feel of their new branding.
Keep consistency across their full product range.
Communicate both the functionality and aspirational lifestyle behind the brand.
Be versatile enough for use on their website, social media, and campaigns.
For the e-commerce visuals, we created a full set of product images from every angle — front, side, back, and 45°. This gave The Belle Brush a complete library of assets for their website and online store, ensuring customers could see the products clearly from all perspectives.
The biggest challenge came with producing the cut-out PNG files. Hair brushes are notoriously difficult to retouch because of the fine bristles, which need to look natural and not artificially clipped. Every cut-out had to be done with precision to preserve the detail and quality of the product.
Another challenge was the white-on-white composition. Since the brushes themselves are white, placing them on a clean white background risked making the images look flat and lifeless. To overcome this, I carefully added dark reflections and subtle shading to give the products depth and dimension, so they felt premium while still meeting the crisp standards of e-commerce photography.

Lifestyle Photography
To bring the new brand identity to life, we planned two lifestyle sessions — one minimal, and one with carefully selected props. The goal was to create imagery that felt simple, cosy, and luxurious, while staying true to The Belle Brush’s refreshed aesthetic.
The minimal session focused on clean compositions, soft lighting, and subtle styling, allowing the products and their new packaging to speak for themselves.
For the styled session, we introduced props to add warmth and context, creating a sense of everyday luxury while still keeping the overall look uncluttered.
Another important part of the brief was to create images with breathing space for text. Many of the photos were composed with negative space so the brand could easily add headlines or campaign messaging for banners and promotional materials. This gave them flexibility while maintaining the premium, consistent visual style.
Both sessions gave The Belle Brush a versatile set of images that could be used across campaigns, social media, and their website — always consistent, always aligned with their new brand direction.
Model/editorial shoot
The model shoot was truly a day full of energy and emotions. From the start, I was impressed by the incredible level of organisation — every detail of the day was planned down to the minute. With five models, makeup artists, and hair stylists all on set, everyone knew their role, and the teamwork made the entire production run seamlessly.
We worked with a combination of artificial light and natural light, carefully balancing the two to achieve the brand’s request for imagery that looked natural, soft, and effortless. This allowed us to maintain consistency while still giving the photos an organic, lifestyle feel.
It was an intense but rewarding day: over 10 hours of shooting, travelling all the way to Galway and back. Despite the long hours (and even a little car drama on the way home!), the experience was unforgettable. The atmosphere was creative, exciting, and full of momentum. Most importantly, we achieved every planned shot, capturing a wide range of editorial-style images that showcased The Belle Brush in a premium, aspirational way — all while staying true to their natural brand style.
